Twelve members of our club, the Alexander’s, Kardynski’s, Long’s, Modetz’s, Paddy’s and the Rae’s, enjoyed the Central Florida Koi Show March 11th – 13th at the International Palms Resort & Conference Center in Orlando Florida.

It was nice to escape the cold and snow and try to adapt to the sunny 80 degrees. It was not all fun and games. Ray, John, Dennis, Mike and Sylvia attended many Koi and pond related seminars.

Ron renewed past vendor advertisers and secured new ones for this year’s pond tour booklet. Once again we will be able to introduce products to the membership at reduced pricing.

The ladies did not miss any of the fashion booths from jewelry, casual wear to home and pond accessories.

Everyone chipped in to select a variety Koi from East Coast Koi Imports for our new monthly raffle.

At the evening banquet Ray presented our MKPC Friendship Award to Shiloh & Ashley Albright for their beautiful Doitsu Showa. Ray also announced that he was asked and he accepted our club to host the 2012 IKONA (Internet Koi of North America) Koi Show, details to follow at a later date.

The last day of the show provided us with the opportunity to follow the judges as they explained why they choose one Koi over the other. With only a few hours left we all scurried around getting items from the vendors that will be beneficial to our club members.

Not all Koi Shows are all work and no play. We did manage to slip in visits to EPCOT, Gator Productions, Downtown Disney and living up to MKPC tradition, good places to eat.
