Hoe Down MDP&GC Style
This year’s annual joint cook out hosted by the Detroit club was another great success. The theme was a Western Hoe Down. As you approached the Smith’s ranch, (home) you knew you were in the right place. The front of the garage was converted into a Saloon entrance that led into the back yard with a General Store, Sherriff’s Office, Jail house and Barber Shop motif. Sherriff Dennis rang the dinner bell, the cry of “grub is now being served”, filled the air. I really don’t believe that the wild west of the past ate this good. At dinners end, Mother Nature made an attempt to dampen our festivities, but the joke was on her! The event moved into the barn(garage), where the ranch hands tried burning off some of those calories doing the “Western Push Tush” The weather broke and Sheriff Dennis and Sheriff Ray cut the Hoe Down cake and dessert was served. Fun, games and socializing followed. A BIG Thank You goes out to the Detroit club for putting on this great event. If you missed this event, check out the pictures below.
